Yerevan, Armenia-Washington D.C., USA—On April 30, a memorandum of intent on cooperation was signed between the Middle East Institute, the oldest Washington-based institution dedicated to the study of the Middle East and providing expert policy analysis, educational and professional development services, and the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs-AIISA, a Yerevan- based independent research institute, pursuing the goal of promoting independent foreign and domestic policy analysis for Armenia, anchored in the shared values of human rights, political freedom, and free market.
The cooperation between the renowned American research institute and the Armenian think tank implies expert exchanges, participation in each other's events or the organization of such joint events, etc.
The memorandum of institutional cooperation between the two institutions was signed by Lulia-Sabina Joja, the director of the Middle East Institute's Black Sea program, and Styopa Safaryan, the founder and the director of the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs.
